Silent timeout problems

As part of the project for which I'm using POW I have to make some
queries that might take quite a long time to execute (maybe 30
seconds). Sometimes there seems to be a silent time out after a while
and POW will serve a blank page. Is there some implicit timeout after
which POW will serve anyway, or is this likely to be a deeper bug. If
the former, can timeout be included as a config variable.
