Hi,

Yes, I think accept-language returned from systems of many HK people are zh-TW > en-US > zh-HK due to settings of their operating systems. So, GeoIP is a ideal solution for Hong Kong people.

Hi,

It's happy to see this happen. Just came up with some thoughts to overcome:

1. Do we have any mechanism to "bootstrap" users to zh-HK pages on mozilla.org? Currently it relies on Accept-Language fallback, but since most HK users use zh-TW or en-US builds which both of them don't have zh-HK in fallback list by default. People have to change the settings on their own. Probably it's better to determine users by something like GeoIP in this case?

2. Does operating systems/other browsers acknowledge and send zh-HK correctly? I used to know many HK users just use zh-TW Windows with locale set to zh-HK, but I'm not sure if it does well for now. Probably we'll need more help from l10n drivers?

Hi all,

I just joined this mailing list after reading l10n contribute page [1] and
says hello to all. I hopes it is a right mailing list for us from zh_HK
(Hong Kong) to get started with Mozilla l10n contribution.

Personally, I am Mozilla Rep from Hong Kong and community liaison of
Mozilla Hong Kong.

Currently we got the following 2 projects which we would like to know
whether we should form a team.

1. Our members at Mozilla Hong Kong started to work on (unofficial version)
zh_HK translation for Firefox.
2. For mozilla.org website, we need to separate locale from zh_TW because
it will be redirected to Taiwan MoCo website (bug #996608 [2] is one of
references), so Hong Kong users cannot reach original Mozilla.org website.

So, should we form a official zh_HK team ? and are we (or how should we)
fulfill requirement to form zh_HK team ?
