Hi all,

Firefox 29 (Australis) will be released on 4/29 (tentative).

Do you have any idea to organize a local launch event ? Date should be one of days of weekend of May 3-4 or May 10-11.

We may:
- organize launch event.
- produce local gears with graphics provided by Mozilla
- produce media: photos, videos, blog posts of events. Mozilla will select some snaps and create post-launch video.

We are planning to organize it on May 3, and we would like you to join and help on organizing it together.

Hi Sammy,

It's been a while. Hope you're doing well!

So yes I'm interested in attending the FF29 launch. That said, I'm more interested in assuming any photography duties during the event, do you think this can be arranged?
Contact me if you're interested.

And BTW sorry for the no-show this afternoon at City U... had to take care of personal stuff so couldn't attend.

One last thing: since upgrading to FF28 I've started to experience more memory-related problems
It eats a LOT of memory so if I open a lot of pages and tags at some point the program would freeze (but not automoatically shut down and restart)
When I check Task Manager I see that FF is using ~1GB of memory and increasing (IE8 only uses 300-400M typically)

Do you know what's happened? Is that a bug with FF28.0 or what? Kindly advise.

cheers,
Alvin L.

Hey Sammy,

May 3 is Saturday right? Should be no problem, but you'll need to advise me of the venue first, as well as agenda (rundown)

And yes I'm interested in doing photo coverage, just let me know of your expectations
And don't ask me to punch out anything too creative

Also I personally don't own a laptop or any tablet peripherial
For file (photo) copy you folks will need to provide that

I don't have your phone contact, nor do I use social media comm. so you'll have to contact me first
My cell # is provided in the undersigned

Thx in advance

cheers,
Alvin L.

Sammy,

Funny that you asked...
You're not thinking I would use very cheapie gear... or the other extreme?

FYI I use Nikon gear (proper DSLR system of course) but I don't get access to the very pro equipment
So basically when I come in to shoot I'll just have one camera, one lens, one flash unit, that's it

If you have any other questions or concerns regarding cmera gear feel free to call me for discussion.

Thx again

cheers,
Alvin L.

Hi, Alvin,

ok, assume your camara uses sd card and my notebook can read sd card.

Sammy,

I'm assuming you're using Macbook (MBP/MBA)?
No problem with SD cards as long as the card slot is working properly

BTW it doesn't matter what storage media the camera uses. Regardless of CF, SD, XQD etc. etcl., it's the photographer's responsibility to bring in a compatible reader in all cases (and that I've been doing that for years).

So no worries here -- unless it's something more critical, like a corrupted memory card. Shouldn't be the case if everything is handled properly.

Oh, and for the record, I'm using D7000 (w/dual SD slots).

cheers,
Alvin L.
