Adding Flashplayer to Linux system.

Linux Slackware 13.37.
I downloaded install_flash_player_10_linux.tar.gz, unzipped and
untarred it, got the
resulting libflashplayer.so and put it in /usr/local/firefox/plugins.
Restarted Firefox.
Still no flashplayer on Firefox.

This must be the commonest form of upgrade to Firefox. Why is it not
described in more detail somewhere?

The trick is, you don't put hte flashplayeer under fierefox, you put
it under mozilla. On my Linux system it goes here:
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
