I am on Windows XP. I once installed FoxIt to see if it would solve
a problem I was having being able to type into PDFs. It didn't fix
that, and I uninstalled it. That was some time ago. When I try to
open PDFs in Firefox, it fails because it cannot find the
FoxItOCX.ocx. I have gone to Regedit and found no Foxit keys. I have
gone into Firefox options and set all the application choices for PDFs
and FoxIt files to either use Adobe Acrobat or "Always ask." That has
not made any difference. I even uninstalled Firefox 3.6 and then
installed 4.0, which I really don't like by comparison, but I haven't
yet gone looking for a way to re-install 3.6. Anyway, I cannot figure
out why Firefox wants to use a FoxIt plug-in and nothing I have tried
makes it do otherwise. Any suggestions? Thanks.
