No output in console (even console.log('anything'); fails occasionally)

Hello Christoph and the rest

I just installed Fireconsole alpha on my windows box at work (XP SP2,
Firefox 3.5.7, Firebug 1.5.0). When I start FF, the fire_info('Hallo
Walter')-command (I' sorry this is my FirePHRuby, I think in your PHP-
library it is something like $fb->info('Hallo Walter'); or $fb-
>log('Hallo Walter,'INFO'');(?)), nothing happens. Even a
console.log('bla'); inside an event handler from a JS-file loaded by
the page doesn't show anything.

This simple Firebug command works as expected when the Fireconsole-
addon is disabled.

But weirdly when I type the same console.log('bla'); into the Firebug-
console it not only works but from that moment on the
console.log('bla'); in the event handler also works - even after the
whole page is reloaded. But this doesn't apply to the (server-side)
FirePHRuby commands.

Maybe I should test a little bit more.

Regards, T.

Here the headers sent by the ajax-response (they work in FirePHP -
just for the case you are doubting):

Thanks for the report. That is strange. We are seeing a few odd issues
like that. The stack FireConsole is built on is brand new so I am
expecting issues like this.

I am working on a debug sidebar that will track all errors and stack
traces and will allow sending these to me upon request. It should help a
lot in flushing out odd issues.

I am planning for a new build this week along with a tutorial on how to
get started with customized templates.

Great to see you getting your feet wet!

Christoph

It's just an very old bug. This works:

X-Wf-Protocol-1 http://meta.wildfirehq.org/Protocol/JsonStream/0.2
X-Wf-1-Plugin-1 http://meta.firephp.org/Wildfire/Plugin/FirePHP/Library-FirePHPCore/0.2.0
X-Wf-1-Structure-1 http://meta.firephp.org/Wildfire/Structure/FirePHP/FirebugConsole/0.1
X-Wf-1-1-1-1 67|[{"Line":"9","File":".\/
firebugtest.rb","Type":"LOG"},"HMMMmmm..."]|
X-Wf-1-1-1-2 75|[{"Line":"10","File":".\/
firebugtest.rb","Type":"INFO"},"\u00dcbrigens..."]|
X-Wf-1-1-1-3 67|[{"Line":"11","File":".\/
firebugtest.rb","Type":"WARN"},"Achtunk!"]|
X-Wf-1-1-1-4 73|[{"Line":"12","File":".\/
firebugtest.rb","Type":"ERROR"},"Schei\u00dfe!"]|

This for example doesn't:

X-Wf-1-Structure-1 http://meta.firephp.org/Wildfire/Structure/FirePHP/FirebugConsole/0.1
X-Wf-1-Plugin-1 http://meta.firephp.org/Wildfire/Plugin/FirePHP/Library-FirePHPCore/0.2.0
X-Wf-Protocol-1 http://meta.wildfirehq.org/Protocol/JsonStream/0.2
X-Wf-1-1-1-4 73|[{"Line":"12","File":".\/
firebugtest.rb","Type":"ERROR"},"Schei\u00dfe!"]|
X-Wf-1-1-1-3 67|[{"Line":"11","File":".\/
firebugtest.rb","Type":"WARN"},"Achtunk!"]|
X-Wf-1-1-1-2 75|[{"Line":"10","File":".\/
firebugtest.rb","Type":"INFO"},"\u00dcbrigens..."]|
X-Wf-1-1-1-1 67|[{"Line":"9","File":".\/
firebugtest.rb","Type":"LOG"},"HMMMmmm..."]|

It's the order of the headers.

Fixed in the next build. Headers can now be in any order (was already
the case but did not work for the protocol header yet).

Thanks!
Christoph
