I inadvertently enabled the tracing console and now I can't figure out how to turn it off.  Apparently the tracing console is for Firebug (or Firebug extension) developers, which I'm not, so I'd like to stop loading automatically.

Thanks for any assistance

There is several options:

1) Open the tracing console window, select the Options tab and uncheck all options
2) Open the tracing console window, click the Tools button in the toolbar and uncheck "Always Open"
3) Uninstall the FBTrace extension from your Firefox profile.

Number 1) should have been this I guess:
Uncheck Firebug Menu > Options > Always Open Firebug Tracing

This is exactly the same as what I mentioned as #2

Ehm, no, you mentioned the Tracing Window in #2. Anyway, uninstalling FBTrace should be fine in this case.

Repeating again: #2 mentions the Tracing window that has an option called "Always Open",
which is exactly the same as Always Open Firebug Tracing option.

Honza, thanks for the answers.  I used option number 2.  Kudos for all your work on Firebug; great tools.
