Firebug 1.2 and banner ads

We use firebug heavily at my work, but every since upgrading to FF3
(and Firebug 1.2.x) I've been having a lot of problems with certain
banner ads on our pages. The ads will frequently appear in the middle
of the content disrupting the flow of the page or they will force the
tab to leave the page entirely and load only the banner ad. I have no
doubt that it is caused by some really junky code coming from the ad
itself, but it never used to happen with 1.1.x versions of firebug. Is
there anything I can do to alleviate this? I tried the 1.3 alpha, but
I'm seeing the same problems. I'd even consider downgrading back to
1.1, but I can't seem to find ANY versions of it anymore.
