firebug, RDP and xdebug

I all,
First message on this group, so let me introduce myself. I’m yet another php developper. Working for a french ministry. I massively use firebug, with the firephp extension, and I really felt in love with those fellows!
As an other debugging tool, I used to use xdebug (php debugger) with remote debugging with Eclipse PDT but, i left eclipse for vim (not trolling…) and I’ve lost in the same time the facility of remote debugging with eclipse/xdebug. Since i’ve read on the firebug wiki that firebug will support RDP, does that mean that i’ll be able to use xdebug remote debugging (with breakpoints, variables’ value, trace,…) in firebug ??! That would be so great !

When I first started looking at remote debug protocols for Crossfire I implemented part of xdebug's protocol. It partly worked, but it turned out that there were some things needed by Firebug that the protocol didn't really support, and I abandoned that project. The RDP that Mozilla is builiding (and Firebug plans to use) is not the same as xdebug's, so it probably will not be supported, but maybe you can convince someone to work on this, I don't believe it would be too hard.
