Sometimes the outline when hovering elements to inspect them and when
hovering the tags in the document outline in the Firebug inspector, is
shifted to the right. I don't really know why this happens... Could be
something I did, could be something Firebug does. Or doesn't. Ideally,
it shouldn't happen at all though.

Is there an example you can show me of a page that exhibits the problem?

Should've included that at first, sorry.

Thanks, that was very helpful. I've got a fix for this and it will
be in the next beta.

Hey, at first thanks for the awesome extension, I love it. <3

Then, I'm sad to report that in my 1.5.0.9 firefox with firebug 1.0 I'm
seeing similar problem as in the original "Outline shifted"-post.

I was able to pinpoint the problem to a situation where I have a basic
html page with padding set to html element.

html{padding-left:50px;}

This causes the outlining boxes to be misaligned 50px too much on the
left of the originating element. Like, if I have an div like this:

div{width:100px;height:100px;background:silver;}

The outline is not around the div, but too much on the left. Changing
the padding to body element solves the problem with firebug, but this
can not be done always.

What could I do?

Thanks

Yes, it seems that on that website there are multiple things that
effect the outline:
html ~ padding
body ~ borders and margin:0 auto;

So, the firebug seems to have an bug related to body position wihin
html element somehow.

If you could make me a test case that exhibits the problem it would
be really easy for me to find the problem and fix it.

Thanks!

Will do.

A CSS border on the <body> does it. That's what causes the shift. It
seems resilient against pretty much everything else that I can test
for.

Did that help?

Yo? Any news on this? When might a fix for it be released?
