how to use the function of the firebug

$ is just an equivalent for document.querySelector(). See the description in our wiki.
And include shouldn't be used to include external scripts into your extension's code. That would open a security whole.

If you just want to call these functions from within your extension, please follow the other thread about this topic.

Please explain that in more detail. Do you want to

1. include code from a page and use it in your extension
2. include other scripts within your extension into a script (i.e. have a modular script structure)
