Is it normal that Firebug occasionally opens your website in a random popup window? I was writing an e-mail in Web Outlook, hit the Send button and immediately, the Firebug page appeared. At first, I thought that Firebug had somehow crashed the app and eat up my e-mail message. But after a bit of investigation, it seems that my mail went out fine. Still, this unrequested page was more than distracting in this case. I remember having asked how to stop that before, but it seems to override my previous wish now. I like Firebug, and I do want to keep it, but I don't care for versions and releases and I do not want to get bugged by any randomly opened web pages. Is there a way Firebug can support my wish?

Sorry for the late reply,

in about:config you can set extensions.firebug.showFirstRunPage to false to avoid this page being opened.

That setting seems to get reverted every now and then. I just checked it again and it was set to true. Is there some bug that resets the setting with every update?

There's no known bug. Also I just tried it with Firefox 26.0 installing Firebug 1.12.5, set the preference to false and then updated to 1.12.6 and the page was not opened (and the setting was still set to false).
Are you working with different profiles?
