Is it possible to decrease the text size of just the console command
line, but not the menus?

I know there's the Firebug >> Text Size >> Ctrl+Alt+[+-0], but that
adjusts the size of everything, I like the menu/button sizes, just
want to format the command line.

FF v5.0
Firebug v1.8.0

Currently there's no such option, but this can be controlled via
themes (so that the Command Line font size is a bit bigger than the
rest).
I am wondering, why you just want the Command Line to have a bigger
text size, but not the panel contents.

Note that here is the place where you need to change the font-size:

I came here looking also for the same thing. After updating to Firebug
1.8.0 (+FF5.0), the texts in the console, HTML, inspector, and CSS
editor are bigger than in Firebug 1.7 (and too big to be comfortable
to use). The menus, however, are the right size, and if I make the
texts smaller, the console, etc. are ok, but the menus are tiny. I've
also noticed that there is a weird mix of fonts in 1.8 (at least on
Windows 7). The command line uses Courier New (font size too big), but
then the messages in the console seem to use Arial (font size
perfect).

Please try Firebug 1.8.1b1 we think we have fixed this problem
http://getfirebug.com/releases/firebug/1.8/firebug-1.8.1b1.xpi

Please let us know if it works for you.
Thanks!

Much better! (I just installed 1.8.1b1). Everything seems back to
normal except for the console. It still has the wrong font-size for
the command prompt (the console as such is ok, but the area where you
can type has the wrong font-size).

Thanks!
Salva.

Weird, this works for me (Firebug 1.8.1b1 + Firefox 5), see the attached screenshot. It works even if I switch to the multiline command line (aka Command Editor).

What could be different between our configs?

I've downloaded this update and I can say that it fixes the initial
problem for me but like Salva, my console text is too large. I have a
feeling that the "clear", "persist" menus items are also too large.

I am using ff 5.0 too with the normal text size option.

If I can be of more help, let me know.

This is because Firebug UI uses more fonts and just one aspect ration
for zooming. This causes some fonts to increase/decrease differently.
Fixing this needs more changes so, it isn't for Firebug 1.8. We'll can
fix it for Firebug 1.9

Any volunteers to help us with this?
