I have Firebug 1.4.5 installed with FF 3.5.5 on a 32-bit XP Pro SP3
machine with 2GB of RAM. Whenever I have Firebug enabled and quit FF
it won't actually quit the process and I have to 'End Process' in task
manager. The other interesting thing is that it quickly eat's up all
CPU time on one processor until I 'End Process'. I have a dual Xeon
machine with Hyperthreading enabled so Task Manger displays 4
processors. I have had this problem for over 3 months now, have done a
clean install of Firefox, disabled all extensions, you name it, and I
can only track this down to Firebug. Any suggestions as I use Firebug
frequently but right now have it disabled until I need it then restart
Firefox, use it, disable it, 'End Process' after quitting and then
restart.

Firefox's install process is not "clean", no matter how many times you
reinstall it does not clear the previous configuration. The only way
to clear the previous configuration is to install Firebug in a new
Firefox profile, see
