no live editing of DOM, etc. in firebug 1.32, 1.33, 1.4 on Windows XP

tried this on four different PCs, tremendously easy to reproduce, just
double click on some DOM element (innerHTML for example), change it
any way you want -- I just delete a word of text -- and hit 'enter'
key. The innerHTML goes back to what it was, and the page is not
changed.
Perhaps it's something I'm doing wrong? As this affects the whole
'live edit' thing, I would expect others to stumble upon this as
well.....
