Yes, I am aware that there are already some reports describing an
incompatibility of sorts with HTML Validator. This one is a different,
new behaviour, tho.
Whenever both FireBug (1.0b5) and HTML Validator (0.8.3.3) are enabled,
I am not able to use any navigation keys (arrow keys, home/end etc.) in
text input fields, also the ' key (which is shift-/ on German keyboard
layouts) throws the quick find. This happens in web forms (text input
fields) as well as on the URL bar or in Googlebar input field. And as
you can imagine makes using text input quite a pain in the behind.
I am pretty sure this behaviour started today (Dec 16, 2006), yesterday
I was certainly able to use the apostrophe in a text field. This is
very odd since neither FireBug nor HTML Validator have been updated in
the meantime.
For the time being, I have disabled HTML Validator. I am using Firefox
2 (20061010).
Cheers,
- Freddy

I have experienced this bug too, it's strange that it seems to come and
go. I have Firebug disabled unless I actually want to use it, but the
keyboard problems persist.
The End key doesn't work, and also clicking in the address box in
Firefox doesn't highlight all of the current url.
