The console has an input field in the upper right corner that's labeled "Search within console panel", but it isn't really a Search - it's a Filter. It removes all lines from the console that don't match the search term.
This means that all context is removed when searching for a line of output.
Does anyone know of a way to make Firebug do a normal search through the Console window for my search term, without filtering out all the non-matching lines?

Short answer: That's currently not possible. Though I've requested this a long time ago. See issue #3111.

I'd like to second the motion. There are times when I want to filter, and times when I want to search. At least, if I filter, highlight a line, then clear the filter it would be nice of the selected line stayed highlighted so I could find it again.
