When I use Inspect Element I am only allowed to use the DOM tab, never
the HTML or CSS tabs. Furthermore, before when I hovered over elements
with my mouse they would highlight with a box around them. Now that
doesn't happen.
Does anyone know what the trouble is or how I might fix it? Firebug is
a huge help to my work and it's a real pain to have it not work
properly.

Thanks for your help.

Same behaviour for me the inspection does not work properly, often the
clicked element is not opened in the code tab. Often, it's also
impossible to click on "+" icon to open a tag in the code tab :(
This feature is no longer working since few time, I don't know if it's
due to an update of Firefox, of Firebug or an update of other
plugins...

Please check that all of your extensions are up to date and if that
does not help, please install Firebug in a new Firefox profile, see
the Firebug FAQ for hints.
