Previous to 1.10.09a, I had a left and right pane in the main Firebug
view. Left pane typically used to browse the html, and the right to
see the css, box model, etc. I believe it was when Firefox auto
updated to this new version that I lost that main viewing
arrangement. Now, I can get the html in the pane that stretches the
entire width of the browser, and I somehow managed to get a
horizontally split pane to view "Style, Computed, Layout, DOM" below
that in another pane spanning the browser, but clicking the "Layout"
tab no longer displays the box model.

I found a reference to options/reset all firebug options, but that did
nothing to reset how firebug looks.

How can I get back to the left/right pane view with a functional box
model tab? And what messed this all up in the first place?

Thanks.

Try uncheck: Firebug (icon) menu -> Options -> Vertical Panels

Does it help?

The changes of issue 3230 are causing trouble with the side panels of the HTML panel. This was already fixed in issue 5498 and will be in Firebug 1.10a10.

Though the actual issue you're seeing should be related to the option Honza mentions.

@Honza:
Resetting the options resets the Vertical Panels setting but doesn't affect the actual display. Even a browser restart doesn't fix this. I created issue 5520 for this.

@Honza - Don't know why I didn't see that. I was right there trying
the reset, but missed the vertical panels entry on the menu. Any,
yes, that got the proper left/right orientation restored, but the
content of the tabs on the right (Style, Computed, Layout, DOM) are
still blank. Thanks for the heads up on that option.

@Sebastian - apparently 1.10a10 is my best hope for a more complete
solution. Do you have an ETA on 1.10a10?

I guess tomorrow, but Honza is the one making the releases.
