Firebug 1.3.3. causes problems with Firefox 3.0.7

I am an enthusiastic Firebug user but have to disable it now because
of this problem. Does anyone have any idea about how to fix this?

You can fix this by installing Firefox 3.0.6 or by installing Firebug
1.3.4b1 from http://getfirebug.com/releases.

There is some work to try to fix this in Firefox by 3.0.9. The
workaround in 1.3.4b1 causes other problems.

What we really need now is a small, clear, 100% reproducible test
case. We think we understand the problem but the test cases are too
complex and erratic to be certain.
