the blog post is upbeat, but the comment seems to point to less alignment among browser vendors.

WebExtensions are what allow FireBreath2 to work -- it requires a
WebExtension which communicates with the native messaging host. I
admit I only did a quick look over it, though, so I may have missed
something else useful in the article?

potentially useful is the claim that it will work in firefox as well.
My understanding was that your native messaging solution was chrome only so far?
