Hi,

is it possible to change the database owner without process of backuping the database and restoring? Large database files can take a lot of time to restore and that means a long downtime for the services. I use Firebird 3.0.13, but if changing the database owner is somehow manageable in newer versions, please let me know.

Best regards,
Marcel

No. But if you tell why you want to, we can suggest you the other way to
achieve the goal.

The owner has full access to the database with all privileges. Restoring database with wrong user reverts the privileges from the correct owner and the only way around it is to give all the nesesery permissions by hand or just restore the full database which takes some time.

Marcel

This is the right way and had to be done at database creation time. Better
late than never.
