Hello.
I recently updated Firebird to 3.0.12. Today I wanted to use Firebird, but got error: login error. Check Firebird log.
And there were errors like that:
Tue Aug 20 08:00:05 2024
INET/INET_connect: getaddrinfo(localhost,3050) failed: Żądana nazwa jest prawidłowa, ale dane żądanego typu nie zostały znalezione.
Tue Aug 20 08:00:07 2024
Authentication error
Trace shared memory can not be accessed

And after that big spam of this:
Tue Aug 20 08:00:07 2024
Authentication error
connection shutdown

Restart of Firebird service took several seconds, then everything got back to work.
What could have gone wrong? Can I do something more to get more details about it?
Best regards,
Tomek.

The same happened today:
Wed Aug 21 08:06:04 2024

Authentication error
Trace shared memory can not be accessed
and then every attempt to log in ends with:
Wed Aug 21 08:06:04 2024
Authentication error
connection shutdown

More details needed, better reproducible test case.
Always report OS and Firebird version and Firebird architecture (yes, I saw that FB is 3.0.12, but this is far not all).
Any 3rd party UDF's or UDR's or plugin's ?

Is it happens when new connection is established after some (few minutes) period of no-connections to any database ?

Regards,
Vlad

Windows 11, official Firebird 3.0.12 (3.0.12.33787) SuperServer. UDFs used from those official from Firebird 2.5 (fbudf.dll and ib_udf.dll).
Yesterday and today scenario was the same - I work until 4 pm, put windows to sleep, next day I wake it up and Firebird doesn't work.

It was sleep or hibernation ? Is there active connection(s) when OS goes to sleep ?

Vlad

Sleep. There should be no connections, I try to close everything then.

Why are you using the Firebird 2.5 fbudf.dll and ib_udf.dll, and not
those shipped with Firebird 3.0.12?

Oh, sorry. I was somewhere in mind with Firebird 5 :-).
No no, I use those shipped with Firebird 3.0.12, nothing additional.
