Hello.
Firebird 3.0.10, Debian 9.13
Our one customer has a problem regarding different charset of connection.
One process connects to a database and after that there is no possibility to view the data of MON$ATTACHMENTS, there is error "Malformed string". We connect to the database with WIN1250 charset.
What charset we need to set to be able to see what the process causes the problem? This error makes logging to ERP system not possible since we select data from MON$ATTACHMENTS.
Best regards.

Does that process represent an application written in .NET? If not, what
fbclient version does it use?
Also, is it located inside a non-ASCII folder?

Our system uses fbclient 3.0.8, but customer can have plenty of own written apliccations (php, flamerobin, etc, .NET probably as well)

Application executable resides in the folder containing national characters.

It's possible. I don't know what application causes this problem, but I already see in attachments (now problem temporarly disappeard) that customer has application of our ERP system residing in folder with letter "Ż" and that doesnt cause the problem.

Well.
It turned out that it was the Polish characters which was causing the problem.
Curiousing. exe file compiled from Delphi on FB2.5 was executing dll written in Java and that was no problem when exe was located in folder with Polish characters.
However, the same with FB3.0 caused Malformed string. I wonder where is the cause of the problem - something on Delphi side or in Firebird.

What fbclient version does the application use? If it's v2.5, did you
try with v3.0 fbclient?

When on Firebird 2.5, it was using 2.5.x fbclient.dll

We have the same problem with MON$... tables.
After connecting apps from non-ASCII folders any select query ends with error "Malformed string"
Server version 3.0.11, fbclient.dll - 3.0.8..3.0.11
Does anybody know how to fix it?
