I hope Martin Koeditz is following this group and can find some time to update the downloads at https://github.com/FirebirdSQL/php-firebird to include builds for PHP 8.4 (released November 2024).

There are already (unoffical?) Windows build for 8.4 at https://github.com/mlazdans/php-firebird/releases.

Thanks in advance!

In the meantime, I brought up a Debian 12 VM with php 8.4 and Firebird 5.0.2, and following the instructions, could build an interbase.so  that seems to work on Debian and Rocky. One test failed -  event handling, don't know if that's expected, but that's OK for me.

I have the the PDO driver working into the latest ADOdb and a large part
of my bitweaver code using Smarty4 as well, hitting FB5, but I was
hitting problems with the generic driver. Now that I've cleared a lot of
other problems I need to go back and just switch ADOdb back to the
generic driver. https://lsces.uk/wiki/Current+FLNP+stack shows the leap
I am making with that site still on the old stack, while my desktop
machine is now mirroring the sites on the newer stack.

I also have the ibtest.php script working with the PDO driver having
struggled with the generic one, and again I need to back-pedal now and
check things out.I'll push the scripts onto
https://lsces.uk/wiki/Firebird+PHP+Test+Script+(ibtest.php) once I'm
happy with them. The dropping of the temporary table at the end of the
cycle has failed since I think FB2.5, but I've got a script that drops
and remakes the connection which then allows the delete.
