Hi everyone,

A while back I mentioned the use of AI to try to work on experimental features for Firebird.

Many things have happened between then and now and I am about to release a server.

I am looking for people to review what has been done, ask questions and give me guidance about the format of the release (ie linux only; linux and windows; docker etc).  I am doing the final code/test audits to ensure everything is fully implemented for the alpha.

As it has diverged significantly from the original firebird 6 dev code, I am no longer going to post in any firebird forum in regards to it other than to let you know that there is a Firebird 5 parser for compatibility (as well as a mysql and postgresql parser - review the wiki/specifications for clarity).

Anyways, if you want to contribute, ask questions, throw rocks - the projects are found at

https://github.com/DaltonCalford/ScratchBird
https://github.com/DaltonCalford/ScratchRobin
https://github.com/DaltonCalford/ScratchBird-driver

ScratchBird is the server
ScratchRobin is the management tool (very early alpha)
ScratchBird-driver holds the various drivers being developed/tested (very early alpha)

Each project has a wiki (scratchbird's wiki is mid update right now - waiting to get more tokens from claude)

Only ScratchBird has a discussions section - feel free to pop into it and say hi.

BTW, the ScratchBird system uses MGA and so the various implemented index types/processes etc should be easily ported over to Firebird, but everything is written from scratch, so it would take work.

best regards
Dalton
