Collation in DSQL parameters

Hello All,
AFAIK second byte of charset for text parameters is used for collation. Does
server respect this collation if it is provided in metadata with a value from
client calculating construction like "UPPER(?)"?
I.e. is there point to transfer to server full value received from
IMetadataBuilder.setCharSet()?
