Hi there,

I have replaced Google Analytics with Firebase Analytics in many of my apps, however I am regretting this change.

It seems that the main statistics pages  at console.firebase.google.com only update once every 24 hours. Is this the intended functionality?

Some time in the last 4 hours one of my apps has started receiving a large amount of traffic. Whereas previously I could go to the real time feed at Google Analytics and see what was going on and see where this traffic was coming from - is it all one location? Someone trying to do something nasty to my apps? - or maybe it is genuine new interest in my apps? I just can't find out what is going on. I am concerned that this traffic may be fake, yet I won't be able to see any analytics or traffic stats for another 12 hours yet.

Fake and malicious traffic can cost me my app career.

It really is concerning that I cannot tell what is going on with my apps, particularly where the lack of statistics could be putting my advertising accounts at risk.

I was lead to believe that the stats would update around every 4 hours, however I can't see this at the moment.

Did I remove Google Analytics too soon?

Regards,
Peter Smith.

Hi Peter,

Your reports should refresh approximately every 4 hours.  Just a hunch -- default ranges such as "Last 30 Days", "Last 7 days", etc. do not include Today.  And so, if you want to see the freshest data, you should either choose "Today" or a custom date range which includes today.

Just a side-note: Nothing stops you from doing a dual GA & FA implementation:

Is there any way we can see the live view of the events being triggered from the app, on the console? like mixpanel? 4hours is too much.
Firebase has any future plans to improve this?

This is something we're thoughtfully considering already, Manish.
