Liability for the usage by my users

I want to integrate Firebase in my Android project. I want to know, will I be held liable for the activities of my users? For example, if a few users use my app to post/send/upload objectionable stuffs (such as hate speech, bad language, objectionable pictures, etc.), will I be held liable for it? If yes, then what are the consequences I may face? Also, let me know how I can prevent this for my app.

Hi Samudra,

Your agreement with Google and Firebase are governed by the terms of service. As long as you adhere to that agreement, you should be good to go. Interpreting that is also something you should do with your legal counsel.

Thank you for your response. As far as I have understood the Terms and Conditions of Google Play Account, our apps should not use any hate speech, offensive language or offensive image. But if we create something like a social media platform, these things are beyond our control, as users may post/upload anything. I want to use Firebase in my app and hence, whatever users post will be stored in Firebase Cloud. Now, if a user uploads an offensive image or a text full of abuses, will I face any consequence? Please let me know if possible. Thank you once again.
