I deployed my app with firebase hosting. I have a background image stored in `images/kibera.jpg` that works fine in development, but after I deploy the image isn't found.

In the console I get the error:

Can firebase hosting handle images from my `images/` folder?

Hi Connor,

Yes Firebase Hosting can handle images, and the link seems to work now. Currently the client returns success when the file has completed the upload, but there's still some processing we need to do on the server. A new version of the firebase-tools client will be released soon with more information on the progress of that, but in the meantime apologies for any confusion

Any news on this? Is it in a update?

Hi Fabion,

This is a year-old thread. Firebase tools has matured significantly since then and gone through many revisions - it now only notifies you when the upload has completed being processed, not just when the upload has finished.

If you're having issues uploading files or images to Firebase Hosting, please either open a new thread or reach out to sup...@firebase.com

I was having a similar problem before I noticed that the image file was named "model.PNG" in my Windows file system, but referenced as "model.png" in my html.  After I changed the filename to match, the image was deployed just fine.  The issue is that windows is case-insensitive whereas firebase running linux is case-sensitive.
