Hi,

I would like to try to host my firebase app with firebase hosting. I tried installing the CLI with npm but when I try to initialize firebase the terminal shows

firebase: command not found

I was googling some solutions to this. played with the $PATH which I have little knowledge of.
I found the firebase tool folder but I'm not sure where I should be placed.

my question is, why can't my computer find firebase after installing the tool? (I'm on a OS X: maverick).
how can I solve this?
can I do this manually? like copy pasting the firebase tool folder from x to y?

thanks

Hi Don,

make sure when you install you use the `-g` flag which installs the tools globally, like this:

npm install -g firebase-tools

That way npm should take care of putting it in the PATH for you and making it globally available

Hope that helps
