Firebase App Distribution only for gmail testers!?

Hi all,

I started migration of Mobile Application distribution pipelines from Fabric to Firebase. 

So I set up everything needed (fastlane, testers group). However I just found that App Distribution is available only for owners of gmail account?

I read docs, but it's not telling explicitly about this. And it gave me to add emails that are not gmail.

So can someone clarify please?

Thanks, app distribution requires that users have a Google account to authenticate.  Google accounts don't require Gmail or GSuite. Invitees can use any Google account they have to access builds.

To have access to Firebase - yes, I agree. But what about just tester? Limiting only to google-account seems high bar for that can't be taken by enterprise

I actually agree with you on this, but to allow for proper management of user deletion etc. the team went in a different direction. 

I'll let them know your feedback so we can look into it moving forward.
