Realtime DB to Fire store migration

Hello,

I just wanted to know if there is a way to migrate existing Firebase Realtime DB json data to FireStore?

I know they are different in their approaches in how they store data but if I do want to migrate in future, are there any approaches or guides to do that?

Hi Sundeep,

As you mentioned, the two database have totally different data models.  For this reason we will likely never be able to offer an automatic migration tool, it would result in inefficient data structuring in many cases.

In the near future we will publish a guide detailing best practices for RTDB developers looking to use Cloud Firestore, so look out for that!  This blog post from yesterday may also be helpful for you.
