New Firebase! Thank you.

I migrated my existing firebase to use the new console for the Storage feature. But I always get an error. Any thing else to do to activate Storage? Thanks
Error is:
Can't connect to server. Try again in a few minutes.

Hi Dumpee,

In short, please do try again, and if that still doesn't work, definitely let us know.

I also have this error message. I tried to enable/disable Firebase Rules API many many times. Also wait for days, but same issue continue. Please suggest a solution if you have any idea. Thank you.

M. Sorry to hear that.

I would suggest leaving the APIs enabled. Toggling them in this case won't help, and may just delay creation longer.

Dumpee, M -- If after 5 minutes, you're still having issue, can you message me off list with:
  1. Did you create a new project? Import a project from firebase.com? Import a project from Google Cloud Platform Project?
    1. If you imported a project from GCP project, did you ever use AppEngine?
  2. Do you have the App Engine Admin API, Google Cloud Storage, and Firebase Rules API enabled? (Check here: https://console.cloud.google.com/apis/enabled?project=_)
  3. What buckets do you have listed in: https://console.cloud.google.com/storage/browser?project=_
  4. Do you have owner permissions on the project? https://console.firebase.google.com/iam-admin/iam/project?project=_
  5. Are you logged in with multiple accounts?

I cannot use Firebase Storage with same error messages, and it does not changed for a day.

 Thank you Wataru.

Unfortunately, there are some imported projects that Firebase Storage can't support right now.

You can check by opening the developer console, and checking under the network tab.
If the response for one of the requests is a 400 with the body sending the message "This project cannot support Firebase Storage. Please create a new project," then your project falls into this corner case.

If this is the case, the best way to get started right now is to create a new project. We're working on supporting these projects in the future.

If this isn't, please reach out to support, and we'll see what we can do.

Hi Dumpee,

I had this problem today. For me the solution was to:
2. Click the menu for the bucket I was trying to access (the vertical three dots on the right of the screen next to the bucket name)
3. Add one more "Item" to the permissions list: Entity <Project>, Name <XXXX>, Access <Owner>
4. Click 'Save'

The "XXXX" is the "Cloud Storage ID" you get when you go to your project here https://console.cloud.google.com/storage/settings and look to the right of where it says "Owners" or "Editor". Pick that long number and stick it in place of the XXXX above. What this does is that it gives this group permission to access the bucket.

Done! You might want to try this, it worked for me.
