How to use Firebase Authentication in ASP.NET MVC Core application?

Hi,

I want to write a ASP.NET MVC Core web application and use Firebase Authentication. It seems I have two options:

• Don't use the "built-in" ASP.NET Core Identity and write my own user role / protect application code.
• Use the "built-in" ASP.NET Core Identity and get it to integrate with Firebase Authentication.

Anybody able to recommend one way or another?
