Hi team

Can anyone help me to know if the collection writes limit affects unindexed documents of a subcollection?
The docs say that shouldn't exceed 1K writes/s on a collection, but if I'm using subcollection the limit affects the first-level collection or subcollection?

FE: If I have the following structure companies/{company_id}/users/{user_id}/messages/{message_id}
I have a limit of 1K writes at all because the limit is on root collection "companies" or by the user because the limit is on last subcollection "messages"?

Thanks for your help

Hello Vincente,

I don't see a 1K limit on writes listed in the quotas or soft limits. Are you saying you benchmarked and this is the maximum?

The nesting of collections doesn't affect the write speed; this is purely semantic from a performance standpoint. Less indices will certainly make it faster, as will less data in the writes just due to internet transfer speeds.

Hi Kato

Is not on quotas, but at best practices talks about this limit on "Limit the collection write rate"

Thanks for your time
Vicente
