Firestore Stored data cost for Blaze plan

My team just upgrade from Spark plan to Blaze plan, and I am curious about how Google calculate the cost of Firestore stored data.

According to this page, the Cloud Firestore Stored data pricing is $0.18/GB/Month with 1GB free quota.

Average of 100GB of stored data in the US during a 30-day billing cycle will charge $17.82. What does "average of 100GB" mean?

I also check the usage history in Google Cloud Platform console,  there is a unit price 0.006/GB/day for Cloud Firestore Stored data.

Does it mean that the Cloud Firestore Sotred data cost is calculated per day?

If our service will insert 100MB data per day, how do I estimate the monthly cost?

Hey Tim,

Apologies for the delayed response.  If you really want to get into the weeds for how this number is calculated, you can check out this page:
https://firebase.google.com/docs/firestore/storage-size

It's not just the size of the data you're inserting, but also the size of metadata and indexes that we store on disk for you.  Unless you're really handy with a calculator, the best way to estimate your costs is to upload a small test data set and check your usage in the cloud console.

The line about "average" costs is just meant to tell you that we calculate storage costs continuously, not at a point-in-time basis.  So maybe on the first day of the month you had 100GB in Cloud Firestore but on the last day of the month you had 200GB stored in Cloud Firestore.  Your billing will be in the ballpark of 150GB * $0.18 for the month in that situation (depending on when/how fast you added the data).
