We are comparing DAU numbers between Firebase Analytics & Appsflyer, and found that DAU from Appsflyer are 40-50% higher than those reported by Firebase

Is there a difference in the definition between these two platforms? Does Firebase Analytics categorize the first time opens as active users?

Hi Watasit,

Clearly there is a difference in the definitions. It also looks like the Firebase threshold is much lower and more restrictive than Appsflyer's daily actives.

One important thing to note here is that Firebase Analytics only marks someone active if an analytics event occurs while the app is foregrounded. So if no events occur, then the user won't be noted as active.
