Hi, we have a default Firebase installation in a react-native mobile app (both Android and iOS).

Our Firebase export of raw data to bigQuery seems to be working as it should.

However the device.advertising_id is consistently empty.

I am unable to find the reason for this. According to https://support.google.com/firebase/answer/6318039?hl=en, the identifiers should be collected by default, at least for Android devices.

What do we need to do to start collecting device.advertising_id?

For iOS you need the AdSupport framework: https://firebase.google.com/support/guides/analytics-adsupport

On Android, check you haven't disabled it (https://firebase.google.com/support/guides/disable-analytics#disable_advertising_id_collection) and that you're testing a on a few devices (in case on is not providing advertising ID, for example)
