Not getting firebase notifications when tab is active

Hello all, 

I am not getting firebase notifications when tab is active. I have reffered this link for implementation:

Anyone know how do I get notification even if my tab is open? I have gone through many links but not getting any working solution.

The behavior is described in depth in the guide here. When the tab is active, you will receive the message in the onMessage() event and you should show an appropriate event; the browser alert will not be triggered.
