Increase Firebase function timeout duration

Is there a way to increase the maximum duration of a function past 60 seconds?

I am looking to increase it to around 180 seconds

yes. you can increase it from here: https://console.cloud.google.com/functions/list

select function > test function > edit > timeout

For any one arriving here looking for this option, the location has changed. The setting is now in the edit tab, but you have to click the link at the bottom to reveal the extra settings like timeout.

Is there a programmatic way to set it via a config file (e.g. in firebase.json), without the need to use external tools (GCP Console/CLI etc.)?
