Traffic into iOS app from Google organic results doesn't show as Google / Organic (Source / Medium)

When a user deeplinks from google organic results into an iOS app, in firebase/GA4 analytics the Traffic acquisition source/medium doesn't display as google / organic. I think it's just recording it as (direct) / (none) or (not set) / (not set). The problem only seems to be on iOS, as Android seems to be working correctly. Is there a way to make deeplinks from google organic results into an iOS app record the source/medium as google / organic?

What kind of deep link are we talking about? Does the link include UTM info? Is it going through the app store or using Apple paid app campaigns? There's a lot of moving parts here to consider.

Hi Kato,

Thanks for getting back to me!

I'm not referring to a deeplink with UTM params or one that is setup through ads. I'm talking about when the user (on an iOS device) searches on google and clicks on an organic search result, then is automatically taken into an iOS app, instead of to the website.
