Firebase DAU/MAU/User # issues

I’m a bit concerned about my audience numbers right now! When I tally my numbers from the time I launched my app to today the numbers look decent, but when I do a month-to-month analysis my users are twice the user base I thought I had and my DAU & MAU look weird.
What is happening? Has anyone else had this problem?
Could use some help please.
