Custom A/B Test Activation Event

I am trying to create an A/B test under Remote Config.  Under the Goals -> Advanced Options there is an Activation event listed.  The description of it states:

An event indicating the user has "seen" the experiment, such as "enter_sign_up_flow". This is useful when measuring sucessfull conversions through a flow.

When I try to add my custom event, I only see built in firebase events listed and I don't see a way to add my own custom event.  Is it possible to use custom events here?  I have tried logging the event a few times to see if it would show up in the list but that doesn't seem to work.  If it is not possible to use a custom event, then the "enter_sign_up_flow" might be misleading, as far as I can tell it is a custom event.

Have you marked your event as a conversion event? It should show up after that.
