I'm having two issues with email templates.

For one, the "Email address verification" template cannot be edited at all, which seems very counter intuitive as I would like at least some customization there.

I also can't figure out how to set the template variables, specifically %FIRSTNAME%. There doesn't seem to be any way to set them via the console, and the `firebase.User` interface only has `displayName`.

I know this service is really new, but if anyone has experience with this I would appreciate the help.

For better or worse, this is actually "works as intended." Welcome emails like this can be easily used by spammers and, as such, we do not allow you to change the template. We are hoping to add some spam detection in the near future and allow you to customize these emails.

It looks like the %FIRSTNAME% variable thing is a bug on our end. We filed an internal ticket and will get it fixed as soon as we have the resources to do so. Thanks for reporting it!

Cheers,
Jacob

Sorry, and by bug, I mean that the variable should be called %DISPLAY_NAME%, not %FIRST_NAME%.

How is the language (locale) chosen for "Email address verification" template? You are not using English for everything are you (similar question for "password reset" eMail)?

If you are using English .. where should one file an "internationalization" bug?

Thanks for your help and attention!

The email that is sent is exactly as you see it, in English for all users. We've already mentioned in several other Google Groups threads that we would like to add internationalization in the future. For now, your emails will look exactly as they look in your console.

Cheers,
Jacob

In general, if you have feature requests, report them through our feature request support channel and it will get routed to the correct internal team. For this particular case, we already have an internal ticket open for it as it has already been discussed many times.

Cheers,
Jacob

Where should we make the "fill in the gap" feature request?  (At least from Android the functions called to elicit an email response should have a parameter that specifies locale (extra parameter to allow for forward compatibility)
