Hi all,

Just wondering when a user is prompted to visit or install the app in place of the visiting mobile/desktop sites. How is this recorded?

I'm conscious that my organic traffic will go down (in GA) and I won't be a position to report the gains elsewhere therefore making YoY comparisons look rather poor.

Many thanks,
S

Hi Stuart,

Firebase analytics includes some default tools for engagement and campaigns out of the box.

Firebase Dynamic Links (a.k.a. Deep Linking) should works well with Firebase Analytics to offer insights here as well. See the blurb from the guide:

Use Dynamic Links in marketing campaigns and for content sharing to know exactly which campaigns and content drive growth. Analytics in the Firebase console let you understand which links drive installs and app use. Referrer tracking associates behavior within your app to specific growth channels.

These two tools are the intended way to track campaigns and app installs vs web page visits. Note that some of this data can be linked into GA through Google Tag Manager as well. That's briefly covered here.

☼, Kato
