Sometimes Firebase authentication takes a long time

For some reason (I think when firebase is connecting for the first time when a browser has been restarted) authentication takes a very long time, from 10 seconds to 60.

Here is my log for example: 

connect to firebase -JCrPModRae-xgM79s2x 1402998623769 FirebaseService.js?body=1:89

authenticating -JCrPModRae-xgM79s2x 1402998623778 FirebaseService.js?body=1:29

get token -JCrPModRae-xgM79s2x 1402998623778 FirebaseService.js?body=1:16

registering user callback -JCrPModRae-xgM79s2x 1402998623779 FirebaseService.js?body=1:187

got token Resource {id: 78, name: "Roy"…} -JCrPModRae-xgM79s2x 1402998624712

FirebaseService.js?body=1:18

authenticating -JCrPModRae-xgM79s2x 1402998624713 FirebaseService.js?body=1:29

auth succeeded -JCrPModRae-xgM79s2x 1402998685692 FirebaseService.js?body=1:44

create firepad

First line (connect to firebase) - create a firebase link ref

Second, 3rd, 4th and 5th is getting a user token from my local server.

Now the important part:

Authenticating again is calling firebase.auth with the token @ 1402998624713

Next is auth success @ 1402998685692

That took 60 seconds!!!

Great to hear from you. Could you please link us to a smallish repro that recreates this problem? We'll need to see it in action to be of much assistance since there are so many working parts involved in network bandwidth and timing.
