Hello Firebase Team,
First, I want to say Firebase is an awesome product. As a CS teacher at a K-12 school that tries to incorporate industry practices, it's been awesome to have Firebase as a backend because it's so easy for kids to get started.
I've used it when teaching Angular, Python(specifically Pygame), and Unity. Firebase has been pretty much seamless with each platform.
Firebase made a change where now my students are not able to use Google Firebase with their school accounts. The message they get is "This service is unavailable for Google Workspace for Education users who are under 18 and children under 13 (or the age of consent in your country)."
I'm first wondering why this change was made.
Then I'm wondering, if there's anything I can do to have my students use their school accounts to use firebase. While one workaround is for my high school students to use their personal google accounts, I'd rather not do that and I wouldn't feel as comfortable with my younger students doing that.
Also I don't want to manage, 80+ databases from my account and have to manage all their credentials.
I'd rather not switch services but I'd have to consider it if this issue cannot be resolved.
Please let me know if there's something myself or my IT department can do to have our students access Firebase.
Thanks.
