Imagemagick and HEIC images

Very recently, I think since iOS 16 started rolling out broadly earlier this month, we've noticed a huge uptick in errors from imagemagick's convert and Sharp.resize when processing HEIC images in Google Cloud Functions. The rate of errors has a strong correlation with the iOS rollout, but we aren't logging enough data to confirm.

Has anyone else noticed this? Are there any good solutions? We're looking at deploying cloud functions with a custom container with imagemagick v7 which seems to have better HEIC support (cloud functions deploy with v6 by default), however wanted to know if others have found a solution that is easier to maintain.
