I created a new Android project using my Google Apps for Work account. I am unable to download the google-services.json config file for the project I created. I get a "Failure - Forbidden" error when Chrome tries to download the file. If I open the URL in a new tab, I get an "ERR_INVALID_REQUEST" error.

I deleted the project and created a new one with the same exact details using my personal account and it works just fine.

Are there permission issues with my Google Apps for Work account, or does Firebase not work with those types of accounts?

Hmm I'm not sure of the intricacies here but I can log a bug for this if you can give me a few more details. Specifically, are there any errors in the console that look related or network requests that are failing?

This is the link that was posted this in the other thread, but I will add it here.

https://console.firebase.google.com/m/mobilesdk/projects/{{package-name}}/clients/android%3A{{package-name}}/artifacts/2?param=["getArtifactRequest","{{package-name}}","{{package-name}}","2"]

Other than that, I saw a lot of "Permission Denied" errors when loading different pages within Firebase and the IAM pages.

I have since deleted the project and created it under my personal account. I just tried to create a new project using my work account, and now everything seems to be working. Could the error have something to do with switching between accounts before creating the project? I have a couple of Google accounts logged in at the same time.

Yeah it also may have just been caused by a random error while creating the original project. I'm not sure. We've been fixing lots of bugs recently so you may have just been unlucky and caught one of them that has since ben fixed. I'm glad that creating a new project resolved your problems though!

Cheers,
Jacob

I just had the same Issue. After going back to my 'standard' account and trying the procedure again it worked fine.

This is a bug in Chrome browser. You can download google-services.json file from some other browser e.g Microsoft edge or Mozilla etc.

Worked fine for me after logging out of all accounts and just logging into my dev account. As far as I can tell, this seems to be caused either by being logged into multiple accounts or by using an account that isn't user #0. (eg ?authuser=1)

I'm seeing this issue in Firefox.
